Roller conveyors are material handling equipment that uses the rotation of cylindrical rollers to transport rolled products. They connect the various processes in the rolling production process, enabling mechanized operation, significantly improving working conditions, increasing production efficiency, and providing the conditions for automated operation. The weight of roller conveyors in a rolling mill accounts for approximately 40-60% of the total equipment weight in the workshop. Many roller conveyors are used on strip hot rolling mills. They are divided into several sections, each section transporting rolled products independently or at a speed and direction synchronized with the rolling mill. To ensure that the rolled products run in the center of the conveyor, drum rollers are used, and the horizontal planes on the left and right sides are alternately slightly inclined, or the angle between the roller axis and the direction of the rolled product is alternately slightly deviated from a right angle. In the past, the above methods were mostly used for centering the output roller conveyor, but recently there has been a tendency to reduce the roller spacing, so the use of roller conveyors with the latter inclined roller arrangement is decreasing. This is to avoid folding of the strip on the roller conveyor due to the high finishing speed when rolling thin gauge strip. In addition, the speed of the roller conveyor and the diameter of the rollers must be carefully considered.
