Variable speed drives for horizontal opening rolling mills can be classified into single-stage and double-stage types according to the speed ratio. The speed ratio range is generally i<7 for single-stage and i=7.1~50 for double-stage. The gearbox housing is a welded steel plate structure that has undergone stress relief treatment. All gears have medium-hard tooth surfaces, and the gear material is generally 40Cr quenched and tempered.
